Delaware Estuary Issues
An Information & Activity Packet for Students at the Secondary Level

Theme: Sense of Place

Introduction
Following 20 page PDF is an educational activities packet entitled: Delaware Estuary Issues — An information and Activity Packet for Students at the Secondary Level. It is produced by the Department of the Interior, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Delaware Bay Estuary Project and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The packet contains many excellent activities that clearly enhance “Down Jersey: Celebrating Our Sense of Place.”

This packet could have been logically inserted almost anywhere within the text of “Down Jersey: Celebrating Our Sense of Place.” The first activity is designed to familiarize students with where they live in relationship to the Delaware Estuary. Thus we have introduced it in the “Place” section of this curriculum. The issues addressed in this packet have relevance to many other elements in your Down Jersey packet.

A very special thank you to the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refugee personnel for their attic scavenger hunt that located our request for these packets. The original 200 teachers’ packets include a hard stock copy in a separate manila clasp envelope.

There’s some great material here! Enjoy.
