Celebrating Our Sense of Place Teachers' Workshops

Citizens United's Down Jersey, Celebrating Our Sense of Place - A Teachers' Curriculum, has been distributed to about 60 of an eventual 500 teachers and curriculum decision-makers. The first 200 will be distributed through teachers' workshops. Other packages will be distributed to teachers who make regular sails on the AJ Meerwald with the Bayshore Discovery Project.

Recipients of the teachers' curriculum package were asked to estimate the potential number of teachers they will introduce to the packet and the number of students they are likely to introduce to the activities. These are the astounding figures from the approximately 90 respondents: 27,000 students and 4,000 teachers. And these numbers represent the minimum because many teachers stated, "throughout Southern New Jersey", "unlimited" or plus signs after their estimates.
