1991 - 1994 List of Accomplishments

94-96- work with local sand mining co. “Morie” on habitat restoration project. Other partners in project are Wildlife Habitat Enhancement Council, Pinelands Commission, Maurice River Township Planning Board, NJ Div. of Fish Game and Wildlife- Endangered and Nongame Species Program.

94 - CU helps with Cumberland County Ecotourism work shop.

CU shows how purchasing field could be less cost prohibitive than preparing the donation of a forested piece of land. Additionally they identify a land trust willing to help seek funding from Green Acres. Sadly Soccer Assoc. fails to complete process. Happily in 97 they are looking at how to utilize fields with the local board of education.

94 - CU participates in lawsuit in conjunction with NJ Audubon Society and NJ Conservation Foundation maintaining parcels conservation zoning. Final conclusion: thousands of acres of sensitive land is donated / sold to The Nature Conservancy.

92- CU ran a successful campaign in Millville receiving a 2-1 voter victory mandating federal Wild and Scenic designation of Maurice and Menantico Rivers

92 - Maurice River Basin Wetlands Conservation Project is selected as the number one project nationally to receive North American Wetlands Conservation Act Funds. This project has presently brought over 4 million in conservation dollars to the watershed. The New Jersey Division of Fish Game and Wildlife sited two non funding partners as the major catalysts in the development of the project CU and the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network. CU's constant documentation of natural resources, the wild and scenic effort, and our determined interaction with local, state, and federal agencies has contributed to making this project a model in conservation.

91-93 - CU funds and found corporate sponsorship for Raptors of the Delaware Bayshore a film by Mitch Smith that we hope will air on public television (as of Aug. 97 this project sadly remains unfinished)
